ExxonMobil launches upgraded formulation of Mobil Delvac™ MX ESP 15W-40 and Mobil Delvac™ MX ESP 10W-30
ExxonMobil has reformulated two commercial vehicle lubricants in the Mobil Delvac™ brand. Mobil Delvac™ MX ESP 15W-40 and Mobil Delvac™ MX ESP 10W-30 now provide stronger protection under the rigour of today’s advanced engine technology.
Why the reformulation?
New standards for the next generation of heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) diesel engine oils have been set by the American Petroleum Institute. Under the PC-11 project, the new US regulations – CK-4 and FA-4 – require stringent testing to ensure engine oils meet the high performance demands of HDVs running at hotter temperatures, higher pressures, and using new metal technologies.
How the reformulation of the new products can help?
Though the regulations are not being enforced in the EAME market, the re-formulation delivers additional performance enhancing features.
Crucially, our newly formulated products have resulted in oils that protect engines against the rigours of modern day driving, leading to a reduction in unexpected vehicle downtime and its associated costs.
Performance benefits you can expect from the newly formulated Mobil Delvac™ MX ESP 15W-40 and Mobil Delvac™ MX ESP 10W-30 include:
- Reduced rate of oxidation to help maintain optimum oil viscosity and reduce deposits of varnish and sludge in the engine
- Stronger resistance to shearing, resulting in rapid loss in oil viscosity to keep the temperature operating window at the desired temperature
- Increased aeration control, reducing the level of entrapped air in the lubricant and diminishing engine wear
The updated oils are approved according to the latest Volvo specifications (VDS-4.5) and Renault truck claims (RLD-4), alongside other key OEMs including Mercedes-Benz and MAN.
